Chart Components: Cut, Copy, Paste, and Delete

Components: Cut/Copy/Paste

1. Cut: this deletes the selected component from the screen and places it on the Windows Clipboard (in memory where it can be retrieved later and placed else­where).
2. Copy: the selected component remains on– screen and a copy of it is placed on the Windows Clipboard.
3. Paste: this puts the (previously cut or copied) component from the Windows Clipboard on to the work area.

Connecting Through Cut, Copy and Paste

Go to the Home tab Clipboard group.  Cut, copy and paste are all located here.

1. Make certain two (unconnected) components are on the chart.
2. Cut or copy a component (we will call this Component #1).
3. Highlight the second component (we will call this Component #2).
4. With Component #2 still highlighted, paste Component #1 from the clipboard.
5. When Component #1 appears, it will be connected to Component #2.

Components: Deleting

1. Highlight the component.
2. Press the Delete key.
