OrgChart fives the ability to conditionally color-code fields based on a rule. This feature is called Conditional Format Field of CFF.
Below is a simple chart showing name title and higher status. The objective is to color the name and title fields based on the Hire Status field being Leaving or some other value.
Conditional Format Fields: Getting started
To get started go to the conditional formatting pane and click on the New Set button. A dialogue for conditional formatting will come up, and in it you may type a name for this conditional formatting set. After doing this click on the OK button
Next, to this Conditional Format Set we will get started adding Conditional Format Formatting fields.
- Click on the Field Styles tab.
- Click on the Operations button and select Add New CFF Set.
Conditional Format Fields: CFF set
In this dialog accept the default Name or change it to whatever you like.
Click on Add/Remove Fields.
Click and check Employee Name and Title.
Click OK.
Conditional Format Fields: Adding a rule
The new Fields Set is established. What next needs to happen is to complete the CFF by adding a Rule and Format for each field.
- Click on the Rule cell for Employee Name. A Field Formatting dialog will appear.
- Select the Rule Is Leaving Person (This is a preset rule that looks for the condition where Hire Status is equal to Leaving).
- Specify the font color and cell fill (Background Color). Do the Same for Title, but try a different background color for the field.
In the chart, change one of the box’s Hire Status to Leaving.
Conditional Format Fields: Result
After this you can make a second CFF Set, but this time for a condition where the person is not leaving.
Conditional Format Fields: Result
Boxes not set to leaving have a different format from those that do.
