Data Synchronization

OrgChart will import data to create an organization chart in minutes.  In addition, after the chart is created you can perform automatic updates to the chart in the event any of your personnel data changes.  This means you can create your chart with one import, and then forever maintain updates automatically.

Resync: Data/properties

Resync Properties and Resync Data are the two commands that you use to update a file created by data import.

Resync Properties maintains a memory of how the original chart was created when you did the first import.  It knows the import file that you used, and the data structure of the file.  If you have updates to the chart and there is a new, updated import file, you can specify the new file in the Resync Properties to capture all of the latest updates.  Making changes in the Resync Properties does not change your chart; it just provides new instructions for the updates.

Resync Data is the command that executes the update process.  It uses the options in Resync Properties in the process of updating the chart file.

At the conclusion of the Resync Data Process a change log is produced to note any adds, changes or deletes that have taken place using the new update file.
